  1. BSL 1:1 coaching

    These sessions can be taught at any level and are designed to help you improve your BSL. You can ask your teacher to give guidance on specific areas of BSL. This can also be used to ‘brush up’ and practise before assessments and exams. If you are on one of our BSL courses and wish to undertake further practice in your own time then this course is for you! Please contact the department for further details and to discuss your requirements. You will then be assigned one of our BSL teachers to work with you.

  2. Award in education and training (City & Guilds 6502) - blended

    The City & Guilds (6502) Award in Education and Training (blended) is an initial teacher training course ideal for anyone who teaches adult learners (or has some experience of teaching) in the Further Education and Adult and Community Learning sectors. We may also accept you if you have not taught before but have related work or voluntary experience. You will be asked to attend 4 Saturdays and 1 weekend - Saturdays: 23 and 30 Sept, 4 and 11 Nov; Saturday and Sunday: 2 and 3 Dec. Please note this course will be online except sessions 4 and 5 on 11 Nov and 2 Dec. You may also be asked to come in on 3rd Dec.

  9. Refresher workshop for people who stammer

  10. Working with adults who stammer: a course for speech and language therapists

    This course will help you get become confident in your everyday communication including reading and writing. We will focus on topics that interest you and use these to help you improve the key elements of reading and writing as well as communication skills to enable you to express your thoughts and feelings including in difficult situations. You will learn to how write whole sentences and paragraphs, use adjectives effectively, organise your writing, make notes and complete drafts, spell important common words, use punctuation correctly and develop reading and writing strategies most suited to you. And you will learn some digital skills including reading and finding information from websites. This course has no exams.
