    Become knowledgeable about your own voice as an instrument and gain insights into how you currently use and relate to it. Identify what you like about your voice in a safe place to play with possibilities. Get to know your voice through engaging in creative, experiential voice work.







    Designed specifically for people who stammer/stutter, this course places no interest or importance on fluency. Instead, it will introduce concepts and practical opportunities to cultivate skills to experience speaking in flow.

  2. BSL level 1

    Have you always wanted to learn British Sign Language and communicate with Deaf people? Develop the skills you need to gain the level 1 BSL qualification, accredited by Signature. The fees for BSL level 1 courses include a year's subscription to Signworld.







    You may wish to study BSL without the pressure of an exam, or just for fun. We can arrange for you to be taught without a formal final assessment and you will receive a certificate of attendance.

  3. Deaf history part 2

    This exciting course covers information about the history of the Deaf community, education, media and sport to a more advanced and in depth level. It is taught in BSL, and hearing people with a minimum of level 2 in BSL are welcome.

  4. Embodied voice course for people who (sometimes or continuously) speak too fast

    This course will most benefit students who experience cluttering. Some features of cluttering are:







    • Speaking quickly, often with rapid bursts of speech



    • Some words being unclear or mis-pronounced



    • Difficulties in explaining and conveying sequences of information



    • Difficulties in being understood by the listener







    Cluttering can be present as the only communication challenge or alongside stammering, dyslexia and/or ADHD (formal diagnosis is not required).







    This course will provide you with skills to become more aware and knowledgeable of your voice and speech. The course will also explore ways to develop effective listening and communication strategies.

    Learn dance and movement skills. Create new dance moves and physical theatre pieces. Produce a dance piece for performance. Present your dance skills to an audience.

  9. English for deaf people: English tenses (entry 2 - entry 3)
    Course start date:  Thu 1 May 2025 (and 1 other date)

    Location on this date:  Online

    This course is suitable for you if wish to improve your knowledge of English tenses. You will learn the names of the different tenses, for what situations we use them and their structure form. You will be signposted to online sources of information and practical exercises which can be used to refine and revise your knowledge throughout the course and after the course has concluded. This course has no exams.



    This course is free for learners who have not achieved a GCSE grade C (4) and higher in English. For more information Click here
