What is the course about?
All cultures respect the world of Story, The ability to tell Stories, in a variety of settings, is a skill that has seen a strong resurgence both in the workplace and in contemporary performance. We all like to hear stories! This course will help you to tell them, short, long, traditional, anecdotal, personal, fairytales, fables…they all require the key ingredient of confidence, and a basic understanding of structure. This course will be delivered online.
What will we cover?
* Performance Skills and Communication Essentials
* Understanding Narrative Structure
* How to feel safe while being spontaneous
* How to ‘visualise’ your Stories as you tell them
* How to get to grips with ‘less is more’, as a performer.
* Enriching vocabulary, and being aware of ‘rhythm’.
Depending on the needs of each individual cohort, the course can be geared more towards business storytelling or traditional folk tales but there will be an aspect of both in every course.
