What is the course about?

The chance to sing choral music with a group over the summer. The choir will have something for everyone from beginners to more experienced singers. We will cover material including pop, musical theatre, jazz as well as more traditional choral pieces. Classes will include a vocal and physical warm up and use sheet music.

What will we cover?

Classes will cover a thorough vocal and physical warm up as well as some basic tips for healthy singing. Learn how to approach singing in harmony, follow your vocal line, basic sheet music geography for choral singing and other useful musical tidbits.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Safely warm up your voice and body
- Feel confident singing in unison and in harmony.
- Have had a fun time learning songs with a group!

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is open to beginners as well as more experienced choral singers, but you do need to be able to sing in tune against other voices and piano.
You need to be able to follow instructions in English.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

This is a highly practical class, comprising vocal and physical warm-ups, vocal exercises, and a variety of songs. You may be asked to review songs between sessions.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Music will be provided in class and you may wish to have a folder and a pencil for marking your music.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?
