This course is for those who have studied Swedish actively for 2.5 years and are ready to take the next step. You already have a solid foundation – now we’ll build on it! We’ll work with more complex texts, conversations, and themes that help you develop your language and understand more about Sweden and Swedish culture.
You’ll practice expressing yourself more clearly, discussing current topics, and writing with greater variety. We use authentic materials like articles, videos, and podcasts to make the learning experience lively and relevant.
The course gives you the confidence to use Swedish in more situations – both in your studies and everyday life. You’ll prepare for your third year with stronger language skills and greater curiosity.
What will we cover?
- sport och livstil - vänner och sociala relationer - pengar och arbete - husdjur och djur i Sverige - Fritid, vanor och ovanor - statsskick, poltik och tabu i Sverige
Grammar/language points: - adjectives and adverbs - reflexive verbs - word order in subclauses - present participles - irregular verbs (grupp 4 verbs) - indirect speech - conditional verbs - relative pronouns.
What will I achieve? By the end of this course you should be able to...
- speak in sentences of increased length and grammatical complexity - use conditional verbs and models to talk about what MIGHT or SHOULD happen - identify formal and informal elements of written and spoken Swedish - describe your friends, family and talk about social relationships - describe your routine and freetime - talk about how frequently something happens.

You should have actively studied Swedish for 2 years recently and be should be able to hold a conversation about everyday situations to an intermediate standard, read everyday instructions in simple, everyday Swedish.
