Digital Skills & Other Computer Skills

Digital skills are universal, as essential as English and Maths for making progress at work, expressing yourself and participating socially.

Our Digital and Office Skills courses develop all your key digital and computing skills from beginner to advanced. You do not learn just the software but focus on the tasks and goals digital skills help you achieve whether analysing data at work or organising your photos on your smartphone. 

You also develop the most in-demand common work and life skills such as problem-solving, analysing, decision-making, working together, attending to details and seeing the bigger picture.

Courses available both in-person and online

Whether you are a recently redundant manager, a carer returning to work, an experienced office-worker or a retiree, our digital skills courses will help you upskill, communicate more effectively, and become a more active citizen.

You can choose long or short courses, online or in-person, with qualifications or without. 

No matter how you prefer to learn, we have the class for you. Most of our courses are FREE if you are on a low income or claiming benefits.

  2. Digital skills for business: visualising data with Excel - from column charts to scatter plots (intermediate)

    Data visualization in Excel is an essential skill, used by business, researchers, statisticians, journalists and many more to make information interesting and accessible. On this course you will focus on the key ways of presenting and interpreting data so you can describe patterns, trends and relationships as well find anomalies and inconsistencies. You will work on when, why and how to use the different visualisations including bar charts, line graphs, scatter plots, pie charts and tables. You will also examine different ways of formatting the data. By the end of the course you can be confident you can present and visualise data in a way that enhances what you want to say and engages others.



    This course is FREE if a) you are on a Low Wage or b) you are either on Jobseekers' Allowance (JSA) or Employment & Support Allowance(ESA) or c) you want to get a job or progress into a better job and you receive other state benefits (including Universal Credit).
