Digital skills are universal, as essential as English and Maths for making progress at work, expressing yourself and participating socially.

Our Digital and Office Skills courses develop all your key digital and computing skills from beginner to advanced. You do not learn just the software but focus on the tasks and goals digital skills help you achieve whether analysing data at work or organising your photos on your smartphone. 

You also develop the most in-demand common work and life skills such as problem-solving, analysing, decision-making, working together, attending to details and seeing the bigger picture.

Courses available both in-person and online

Whether you are a recently redundant manager, a carer returning to work, an experienced office-worker or a retiree, our digital skills courses will help you upskill, communicate more effectively, and become a more active citizen.

You can choose long or short courses, online or in-person, with qualifications or without. 

No matter how you prefer to learn, we have the class for you. Most of our courses are FREE if you are on a low income or claiming benefits.

    Are you new to Word and word processing? Do you want to learn this essential skill both for work and private life? This course will help you create and organise digital letters and short documents.You will learn all the basic functions of creating documents: adding, copying, moving and formatting text, inserting pictures and creating tables, checking spelling and grammar, changing the page layout and printing different documents accurately. All you need is enthusiasm, and confidence using a mouse and basic keyboard functions.

  4. Becoming confident in file management and Windows 11 on your PC (beginners)

    Are you able to find the files you need on your PC or on your work's shared drive? Do you know how to search for



    missing files? Have you got a system to organise your work or home files? Files are the essential components of



    computer use and it is vital to manage them well, especially as cloud use becomes more common. On this course you will learn how to navigate Windows 11, essential to good file management, as well as discover more about files, become confident with the terminology and develop strategies for saving, organising, navigating and searching files of all types. You will also learn how to back up your files so you never lose them!

    Are you new to Excel? Have you used Excel a little but lack confidence? Are you unsure about what you use Excel for? On this course, you will learn the key basic functions of Excel so you can begin your journey towards handling, analysing and presenting data effectively. You will learn the main functions of Excel and associated terminology. You will focus on how to create simple worksheets, enter data, present it in a logical and functioning way with formatting that makes it easy to read. You will work on using Excel in place of your calculator to make basic calculations and you will practise turning this data into simple charts and graphs. By the end of this course, you will confident enough to create your own weekly budget calculator. To do this course you'll need to be able to use a mouse, keyboard and basic computer functions.
