Courses Leading To A Qualification

Do you need to develop your digital skills for work and general communication? Would you like to gain a qualification at the same time?

You can join our ECDL courses from the beginner Level 1 Award up to advanced Level 3 Certificate or the new Essential Digital Skills for Work Level 1 qualification. These courses are internationally recognised IT qualifications designed to give students the skills to use computers with confidence. All these courses will help you progress at work. You will learn the most important Microsoft Office programs including how they are used in an administration and work environment.

Our experienced tutors will teach you how to undertake basic and more advanced computer tasks with ease. Come and join us and take your employability skills up to the next level.

The majority of classes are delivered live online but some classes are now taking place in the City Lit building. To take part in our live online interactive courses, you will need a computer with a microphone, a camera, and a good internet connection. We also recommend using Google Chrome.   1. Level 2 certificate in IT user skills (ECDL Extra)

    Do you want to learn the skills you need for office work or everyday life, and gain a qualification? On this course, you will learn the core software applications required in every workplace. The course is made up of four modules: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Improving Productivity using IT. If you pass, you will receive the Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra). This course is ideal if you have some working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel, but want to be confident you can use their most essential elements.

    Are you new or returning to word processing, spreadsheets and presentations? Join this course and learn how to use the most important basic features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This course will give you the confidence to use the programs independently as well as pursue your studies to a higher level.

  3. Essential digital skills for work (Level 1)

    Are you new to computing? Do you have some digital skills but lack confidence to use them? Would you like to gain the most essential digital skills needed for today's workplace? If you need to develop the foundational digital skills for today's job market, this is the course for you. The course will give you the confidence to use digital devices and tools to collaborate and communicate efficiently with work colleagues, to create documents and presentations, and make simple spreadsheets. You will learn the transferable digital skills you need to progress, participate and express yourself in the workplace. You will also gain a qualification. 53% of UK employees do not have the digital skills needed for work. You don't need to one of them.   4. Level 3 certificate in IT user skills (ECDL Advanced)

    Weekend
    Course Date: Sat 27 Feb 2021 (and 1 other date)
    Location on this date: Online
    Do you want to know that you can work to an outstanding level in any work environment requiring an expertise in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access? Do you want a qualification to prove these skills? The Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced) will give you exceptional proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, and will improve your productivity in using IT. You will gain all the skills you need to work at the highest level in an office environment.

    The course fee is £1200. If you are unable to pay this upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to help cover the course fee, repayable after the course ends. A deposit of £200 is also payable to secure your place (refundable after you complete the course).
