Do you want a qualification to prove these skills? The Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced) will give you exceptional proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, and will improve your productivity in using IT. You will gain all the skills you need to work at the highest level in an office environment. This course may be free if it is your first L3 qualification.   15. Workplace skills: how to be organised, focused and efficient using MS Outlook (intermediate)

    If you want to be an organised, efficient and service-focused in your work, then you need to have a system for managing information, tasks and meetings. MS Outlook can be part of that system but for many people it feels part of the problem rather than then solution. This course will help make Outlook work for you not the other way round. You will focus not only on the features of Outlook but also how to think about problems, how you can solve them and what you are trying to achieve. You will work on developing an email routine that allows you to concentrate on tasks at hand and not be distracted by incoming messages. You will focus on how to create a folder system and process using quick steps, rules, categories and colour-coding so you can keep a trace of emails, tasks and appointments. You will learn simple and efficient ways to schedule your work and use notes and task and use the flagging system to keep track of your priorities. You will also look at how to integrate Microsoft's To Do app with Outlook to your further your ability to stay of top of your work. By the end of the course you will have rethought how you use Outlook and will be confident that it is a now a tool that frees your mind so you can work rather than fills it with excess information.
