    Recent months’ debates on reparations, statues, school curricula and the politics of race are intimately linked to the deeply flawed racialised hierarchies built by scientists in the age of empire and the endless pain they have caused. Addressing this, this science reading group will study and discuss Angela Saini’s widely acclaimed, engaging and important book ‘Superior: The Return of Race Science’. Drawing on Saini’s book, we will explore and discuss how the sciences lent themselves to imperial projects through race science and its implications and the still significant problem of race science in the 21st century.
