What is the course about?
This lecture celebrates the ancient world and accompanies the forthcoming Classics Week (RC061) organised by City Lit in partnership with the British Museum and University College London. This year’s inspiration is the major British Museum exhibition “Nero: the man behind the myth”.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

The process of creating an alphabet, its sources and how some signs were developed.

Anyone with interest or curiosity for the ancient world is welcome to join. No previous knowledge required.

This is a tutor-led lecture, with opportunities to ask questions throughout the session.

Heeyun has been a Korean teacher for 12 years. She was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She majored in Korean Language and Literature for her BA in Seoul and completed her Korean teaching education training in 2009. She went on to teach at universities in China and Thailand after she obtained her Korean teaching certificate. Heeyun came to the UK in 2015 and studied at SOAS, University of London. She enjoys teaching Korean and has a lot of experience teaching groups and individuals from diverse backgrounds, age groups and ability levels. She also loves language learning herself and understands the difficulties students can face and how she can help students overcome them. She looks forward to meeting you and very much hopes you enjoy learning Korean at Citylit!
