What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
The course is suitable for anyone new to or wishing to develop their skills in using icebreakers and games in their day-to-day work with groups. We all have a wealth of experience of groups because we grow up in them: family, school etc. However, no specific experience of facilitating groups is needed in order to attend.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
This is an experiential course that includes input on theory and group discussion. There will be individual, partner and small group work. There will be opportunities to practice new skills. The experiential nature of the course will require you to be willing to take part in the exercises and discussions and to use your own experience as material to learn from. This includes the requirement to express yourself clearly, fluently and accurately in English.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
No. Handouts will be provided during the course however, please bring notebook and pen.
