Sub-Saharan Africa has more than 45 countries, home to more than a billion people this global region accounts for a vast continent with a deep, complex, and rich past going back to humanity's emergence, making us all descendants of Africa.

We want to highlight the significance of Sub-Saharan Africa. Sub-Saharan Africa is more than just a singular site of the history of European imperialism, contemporary interventions, or significant resources.
