What is the course about?
You will explore through practical exercises the basic methodology of two leading voice practitioners as selected by the tutor, themselves a Voice expert.
What will we cover?
The different techniques that different practitioners may advocate in breath, note and phonation.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Embody efficient posture and alignment.
Demonstrate free, centred & supported breathing in voice and speech
Use muscles of articulation to speak with precision and freedom
Communicate text with natural lively expression.
Identify aspects of own vocal use that could be improved by following the precepts advocated by voice practitioners.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Ideally you will have a fundamental knowledge of the methodology of leading voice practitioners such as Rodenburg; Linklater and Carey.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You should read any resources advised by the tutor between classes.
As part of the course content, your tutor may record your image for initial and ongoing assessment purposes. You are entitled to decline to participate in the recording of your image.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Bring a small hand mirror and notepad and pen.
