What is the course about?
This course aims to develop your understanding and accuracy in using more advanced conjugation such as future, present or past conditional. Ideal if you are preparing for DELF B1 or B2 and A-level.
What will we cover?
You will learn when (or not!) to use the subjunctive as well as the relationship between the future and the conditional.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- choose the right tense for the right situation
- get familiar with verb endings and use them with more confidence.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Students should have acquired an intermediate level (4 years of French) and should be working towards an upper intermediate level. This course is ideal for students preparing for the DELF B2 or A-level, or students who have enrolled for any French 3 lower, 3 Upper or French 4 classes.
It is also essential that you have knowledge of more complex grammar terminology such as: the futur, the conditional, direct and indirect speech, pronouns.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is based on the communicative approach:
- active students’ interaction
- emphasis on speaking and listening skills
- pair and group work
- role plays
- use of realia, pictures and authentic material
- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate
Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some homework as and when required.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
All materials will be provided by the tutor.
When I've finished, what course can I do next?
You can enrol on a course. The tutor will be able to give you advice or you can contact languages on email@example.com . Note that there is French Delf B2 starting in January (LFY32)
