What is the course about?
This course aims to introduce you to the major wine regions and styles of the western side of the Languedoc.
What will we cover?
A brief history of wine in the Languedoc
The most important areas with –in the region
The different wine styles in this region including roses , whites and reds.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Identify some of the major areas of wine production in the east of the Languedoc
Be able to describe a range of wines produced here and identify the most important grapes used here.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
The course is open to beginners and those with some knowledge of wine. No prior knowledge of wine is needed.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is taught through tasting the wines. There will be recommendations for other wines for you to try if you wish.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
There are no other costs – tasting glasses and spittoons will be provided.
You may wish to bring a notebook, pen and water, and possibly some plain crackers to refresh your palate between wines. Please avoid strong perfume or aftershave.
