What is the course about?
A practical workshop based on The Vocal Arts Workbook by David Carey, one of our greatest voice teachers: explore practical exercises around achieving clarity and expression with your voice.

Alignment; breath and articulation exercises.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Embody physiologically efficient posture
Demonstrate free, centred & supported breathing in voice and speech
Use muscles of articulation to speak with precision and freedom
Communicate text with natural lively expression
Identify aspects of own vocal use that could be improved by following the precepts advocated in The Vocal Arts Workbook.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Everyone who is interested in the voice is welcome.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You should be familiar with the book before you attend the workshop.
As part of the course content, your tutor may record your image for initial and ongoing assessment purposes. You are entitled to decline to participate in the recording of your image.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Bring a copy of the text with you as well as a notebook and pen and small hand mirror. You should be dressed appropriately for floor work exercises.
