What is the course about?
A practical workshop based on Freeing the Natural Voice, the seminal 1976 voice book by Kristin Linklater: explore creative exercises to liberate the natural voice.
What will we cover?
Core breath and resonance exercises.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
• Have a clear sense of the vocal channel being able to resonate and phonate with a sense of ease.
• Deepen your connection to the breath and release sound with freedom.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Everyone who is interested in the voice is welcome.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You should be familiar with the book before you attend the workshop.
As part of the course content, your tutor may record your image for initial and ongoing assessment purposes. You are entitled to decline to participate in the recording of your image.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Bring a copy of the text with you as well as a notebook and pen and small hand mirror. You should be dressed appropriately for floor work exercises.
When I've finished, what course can I do next?
You can enrol on the other worshops in the Voice Practitioners series.
