What is the course about?

The course is about exploring and practising how to use the Gestalt Two-chair method which can often be helpful in working with clients who struggle with inner conflicts focused on self-esteem, identity issues, anxiety etc.

Exploring the significance of Gestalt two chair techniques.
Theoretical concepts of Gestalt counselling.
Dealing with inner conflicts.
How to use Gestalt Two-chair techniques.
Resolving inner conflicts and unfinished business.

Identify key theoretical concepts underpinning Gestalt counselling.
Engage in a conversation relating to personal inner conflicts.
Practise using Gestalt two-chair techniques.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is suitable for counsellors or other professional helpers who wish to learn about the use of Gestalt Two-chair techniques. You will be experienced in dealing with clients in conflict, but require no specific knowledge of this technique in order to attend.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

This experiential workshop includes input on theory and group discussion. There will be individual, partner and small group work. The experiential nature of the course will require you to be willing to take part in exercises and discussions and to use your own experience as material to learn from.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No. Handouts will be provided during the course however please bring paper and pens.
