What is the course about?

Whether you are seeking to refine your alignment, deepen your practice, or cultivate a stronger mind-body connection, our intermediate yoga class focusing on postures, technique and alignment is the perfect opportunity to further your journey on the mat.

What will we cover?

- Physical warm-up / cool-down
- Joint articulation and flexibility
- Exploration of more advanced expressions of familiar postures
- Basic and intermediate arms balances their technique and safe alignment
- Adjustments and modifications
- Pair work for balance support.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Develop a deeper understanding of proper alignment in each pose for an effective and injury-free practice
- Perform some basic arms balances such as: Bakasana (crow pose), a variety of planks and side planks (vasisthasana), chair pose and variations, tree pose and variations plus headstand and shoulder stand (Adjustments and modifications will be given to match student’s anatomy and levels of practice)
- Development of strength, flexibility, balance and stamina
- Recognize basic body anatomy
- Recognize foundational body mechanics and movement analysis.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The intermediate class is for those practitioners who have attended Yoga classes before and feel ready to challenge their practice to the next level. Some level of confidence in your body should be required. It is also expected from you to know and to be able to follow demonstrations of the foundational yoga poses with ease, however, you not necessarily need experience in flow or smooth transitions.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will learn through demonstration and individual self-practice. You will be encouraged to explore variations and more advanced expressions of foundational postures, helping you to further develop your strength, flexibility, and balance. Modifications and adjustments will be offered to ensure each student’s needs are met.

From time to time the teacher will provide printed and online material to be study outside class, you will be invited to discussed in the classroom and apply it into your self-practice. The self-study is not a rigorous study and it will not take more than 15 minutes per week.

Carolina Sanchez M Yoga teacher-Massage therapist (Holistic Massage/Deep tissue) Carolina has BA in Dance, is a certified Yoga Teacher and Massage therapist. Has trained in somatic movement disciplines -among them Feldenkrais and Eutonia (both disciplines that teach how to observe movement and the comprehension of the human being). Also has trained in martial arts (Kalaripayattu/Indian martial art/ and Kung-Fu), Circus, physical theatre, acrobatics, and puppet and object theatre, among others. In 2001, Carolina was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga as part of her dance training. In 2009 she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she started to teach Yoga consistently, working with private clients and Gyms. Two years later moved to London. Since then she has been working with a diverse clientele from VIP clients in 5 stars hotels, charities, gyms, women's centres, to drug and alcohol services. The diverse experience has given her the insight to understand that every person has something particular and fascinating to work with. Carolina's Yoga classes focus on body mechanics, mobility, posture foundations and the intrinsic relation between hips and spine.
