Joint health is essential for maintaining our quality of movement and general fitness. For some people joint maintenance is about being able to perform the activities of daily life with ease. For others the goal is to develop range of movement or absorb impact during sport or dance training. Working with the mindful movement practices of Yoga and Pilates combined, this course supports the body’s joint health.
Each lesson you will learn and practise targeted exercises to strengthen the muscles that surround different joints throughout the body, in addition to performing specialised stretches and mobilisation techniques to release joints. Sessions will conclude with gentle limbering sequences to reintegrate and relax the whole body.
This is a course that takes an attentive, precise and explorative approach to body work. The resulting gentle pace of sessions directly facilitates the effectiveness of the exercises and practices undertaken. Activities are additionally adapted to the level of each individual learner.
