What is the course about?

Exploring Surya Namaska, the Yoga Sun Saluatatio, a common sequence in yoga classes. Including some modifications and variations.

What will we cover?

The forms and patterns making the sequence.
Origins of the Sun Salute.
Finding a suitable form for each individual where to modify and how to modify.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Have experienced a number of sun salute variations.
Know how to safely practice and where necessary modify a sun salute.
Define vinyasa.
Understand the origin of the sequence and why it's evolved as it has.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You need to be confident in yoga - not for absolute beginners.
You should be able to follow demonatration and verbal instruction.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Demonsatartion and instruction. Mainly practical with minimal theory.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No additional costs. Wear loose appropriate clothing to move in.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Any yoga course at the City Lit.
