De l’entrée fracassante de Zola dans l’affaire Dreyfus avec son “J’accuse” suivie par le traumatisme de la 1 ere guerre mondiale véçu par Céline, Barbuse et Genevoix, l’engagement sur la question coloniale dans les années 30 avec Malraux, Gide et Duras, la résistance à l’occupation nazie des poètes Vercors, Éluard et Aragon, le conflit est-ouest avec la célèbre querelle de Sartre et de Camus, jusqu’aux année 60 et 70 ou l’engagement et la signature de pétitions deviendront la norme.
Le XX siècle restera celui de l’engagement des écrivains de des intellectuels. Ils nous a laissé quelques unes des plus belles pages de la littérature Francaise. Nous les découvrirons et les lirons ensemble.
