An English Language GCSE is an essential qualification for anyone wanting to practise higher-order reading skills and use these to develop fluent and effective writing. It is one of the most commonly required qualifications by employers and universities, and will enhance your job and education prospects. This specification will ensure that you can read fluently and write effectively, demonstrate a confident control of Standard English and write grammatically correct sentences, deploying figurative language, and analyse texts.

Functional Skills Level 2 Maths shows employers and others that your maths skills are at a good level and that you can use skills to solve complex issues in a variety of situations. You will develop your maths to become a problem-solver, analyser and decision-maker.



    You must complete the Getting Ready for Maths functional skills (level 2) course before doing the full qualification course.

  11. Mindfulness sketchbook walk

    Join us for a sketchbook walk in Central London to observe, record and engage with the busyness of urban life. Using mindfulness techniques combined with drawing we will be examining our experience and opening up to the magic and surprises that an evening in the city has to offer. It can be difficult to keep grounded and aware in urban environments but drawing offers a helpful way to direct our minds to the here and now, keeping a sense of purpose and deepening our attention.

  12. Understanding Greek politics

  13. Digital skills for deaf people: improve your English by researching life stories of famous people and sharing their stories in BSL (Entry 3 - Level 2)

    You will learn different research strategies, understanding where to look for information. You will learn how to skim and scan different texts to find the details you need. You will make notes identifying the source of your information and then finalise scripts to help you to deliver the presentation. You will be able to give a well-structured presentation with an introduction and conclusion, and use features of BSL such as: timelines, placements, referencing and enumeration. You will also learn BSL presentation skills such as how to introduce your topic, share the main points of information and summarise what you have covered.
