The City Lit approach

Do you have a deaf student in need of specialist support to achieve their potential at university or college?

We have a wealth of experience in providing a high level of comprehensive support to ensure deaf students succeed in their studies.

We provide a wide range of services which we can adapt to suit the student’s specific requirements, including in-class support, 1-1 tutorials, small groups, job placements, interviews and exam support and we have recently introduced remote tutorial and transcription / notetaking provision.

Following an initial assessment interview, we will work closely with the deaf student and their disability officer to plan the best combination of communication and/or tutorial support which will enable them to get the most out of their programme of study. Our support package also includes deaf awareness training options for staff and students. Our specialist support tutors have many years of experience in deaf education and are able to advise on the most appropriate language service professional to match the student and their access requirements.

To benefit from our decades of experience in providing high quality access for deaf students on mainstream courses and our reputation for excellence in deaf education, contact City Lit.
