RED January has raised millions for mental health causes, and inspired communities to embrace regular physical activity, helping to decrease inactivity levels and boost people’s mental health, wellbeing and quality of life.

Myra Hess Concert 2024: Alexandra Silocea

For their Bicentennial Year, The National Gallery are honoured to welcome internationally renowned pianist, Alexandra Silocea, to the Gallery for a stunning debut performance to celebrate the very special legacy of the Myra Hess wartime recitals. She will be joined by special guest, Robin Hart, who will be reading some seminal excerpts from Myra Hess' letters. We invite you to join us for what promises to be a beautiful and memorable performance in Room 34.

Myra Hess believed the arts played a powerful spiritual role in the health of the nation. On World Mental Health Day, this concert celebrates collaboration and friendship, as well as all that the original concerts embodied and achieved. We come together to remember the courage, hope, and determination that motivated Myra Hess and her team at the National Gallery.

Join Dr Olivia Hum and Dr Zoe Schaedel for an enlightening and empowering session where they delve into the intersection of menopause, sleep, and overall health. "Thriving Through Menopause: Strategies for Better Sleep and Health" is designed not only for those experiencing menopause but also for anyone interested in understanding this significant life transition. Key takeaways will include insights into menopause, common symptoms and how it affects the body and mind. Discover why sleep disturbances are common during menopause and explore evidence-based strategies to improve sleep quality. Many of these will be relevant whether or not you are (or ever will be) in the menopause transition, and this session aims to offer tips to improve sleep for all!

Boost Your Brain Power:  Improve focus, memory and take charge of your wild mind

In this interactive Mental Wealth Festival workshop, delivered by Sonal Kapoor from Brain Abilitiez, you will review how your brain serves you, receive advice on how to boost your brain on a daily basis, and engage in some activities to help you fire up those neurons and learn how to "reset" your mind when you are stressed and under pressure.

Join us for a special version of our Frazzled Cafe facilitated peer support meetings. As part of the Festival, Frazzled Cafe is running a session for those either at the Festival or wanting to be involved. Frazzled Cafe meetings are designed to provide confidential and non-judgmental peer support, where people who are feeling overwhelmed by the stresses of life can talk openly, connect and feel heard. An Evening with Sir Grayson Perry

An exclusive evening with renowned artist and City Lit Fellow Sir Grayson Perry. Headlining this year’s Mental Wealth Festival, he will discuss the fascinating intersection between art, creativity and mental health. This will be followed by a drinks reception in the City Lit Gallery, which offers a unique opportunity to meet and interact with the artist personally. This event is a fundraiser, with all proceeds going towards the City Lit student bursary.
