What is the course about?

This course is designed to improve posture and balance though gentle movement sequences safely in different positions. There will also be time to practice how to get up and down from the floor easily, efficiently and safely.

What will I achieve?

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Everyone is welcome, no previous knowledge or experience is needed. However you should be able to get down on the floor and up again independently or with the support of a chair. If you have a disability or health concern, please contact the Health and Wellbeing department in advance (Health@citylit.ac.uk or 020 7492 2622). You should be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

You may need to get medical clearance (from the college or from your health practitioner) first, and if you have not, or it is not appropriate, then please do not enrol in this movement workshop.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

The best thing to wear is comfortable and loose clothing. The movements are gentle so you need to make sure you will be warm enough for the duration of the workshop, as your body temperature may drop.
