What is the course about?

Fitness Pilates is a fresh approach to classic Pilates, a fantastic way to identify basic posture and movement imbalances, to increase body strength from the core and work on balance. You will use the resistance band to strengthen the upper and lower body.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

A variety of topics such as: standing posture and alignment; back and core work; work with resistance bands and Pilates ball (or alternatives); standing balance exercises; spinal mobility.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Locate and activate core muscles
• Practise lateral breathing
• Perform a variety of muscular strength and endurance exercises correctly with equipment (optional)
• Improved posture and spinal alignment.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

All levels.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

- Demonstrations
- Verbal instructions
- Practice
- Q&As.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Wear loose comfortable clothes. Optional: Stretch band, Pilates ball and a mat. If you don't have a resistance band, you can use two cans or water bottles instead; and a towel instead of Pilates ball.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Eveltos Pagdades

Eveltos began his career in fitness and wellbeing in 1990, the focus was delivering classes and workshops in London health clubs.Over the years he has continued to develop his teaching skills by adding Pilates and in 2016, moved to adult eduaction by completing a programme for over 50's health and wellbeing. It included the latest reseach from Birmingham University on the affects of ageing on our bodies and what exercise could to do to help and improve health. "It has been incredible to see the progress in students fitness and mobility at my City Lit courses, especially from students with limited movement or who have never exercised before."
