What is the course about?
Focusing is a powerful process of inner knowing and transformation that can be learnt. It facilitates tuning into and listening to those subtle, vague, elusive, mysterious, irrational gut feelings that can be hard to pin down and describe. The results of engaging in this process include insight, physical release and positive life change.
What will we cover?
This short course will cover the essential characteristics of focusing and the use of presence language. It will provide an opportunity to experience focusing for oneself.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
List 3 essential process characteristics of focusing.
Identify essential process characteristics in a demonstration.
List at least five qualities of presence.
Apply this learning to my own focusing practice.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
For counsellors and therapists who are interested in the focussing approach. You will need to be able to discuss and contribute to ideas and concepts covered during the course.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Presentation, discussion, demonstration, practical exercises.
