What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You should have finished a French level 2 course or have studied for 2/3 years recently. We strongly recommend that you contact the languages office in order to have your level assessed. You will also need to be able to understand basic spoken and written information in English (e.g. simple instructions, course documents) and be at ease with the use of numbers for daily activities (e.g. using money, telling the time etc).

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Based on tutor's own material and handouts.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

French 2 upper: module 1 or French 3 lower: module 1 in September according to level. Ask your tutor for advice or contact the Languages' office at languages@citylit.ac.uk. Please enrol as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note that we offer exam courses.
