What is the course about?
To enable you to sing a Bollywood Hindi song and learn the vocabulary and also to introduce you to basic musical notes in Indian vocal music.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.
What will we cover?
Basic Indian musical notes, the Hindi vocabulary in the lyrics and the meaning, as well as singing the song.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- Sing basic Indian musical notes
-Learn Hindi vocabulary from the song
-Understand the meaning of the lyrics
-Sing the song.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Suitable for complete beginners. Also suitable for students who have attended a Hindi course or have a basic knowledge of the language.

Sabrina graduated from Aligarh Muslim University, India with a BA in Hindi & Sanskrit in 1990 and was awarded three University Gold Medals. Sabrina then went on to study Fine Art for a BFA & MFA in 1994 and 1996 respectively from Delhi University, India and an MA in Art Practice at Goldsmiths College, London University in 2007-9. Sabrina has 7 years of experience in teaching Hindi- her first language. She enjoys using audio/visual resources and activities in language teaching along with her own original teaching materials. Her in-depth knowledge of the language and teaching experience with specially designed lessons make her lessons very enjoyable. Her cultural inputs and anecdotes provide a deeper understanding of her fascinating country - India. Her research interests include contemporary Hindi in urban/rural settings and in Bollywood. She is also a proofreader for Hachette. Recently she reviewed the Hindi Grammar book for Routledge.
