Niall is a language teacher and activist from County Tyrone. He first studied Irish at secondary school, and went on to study Modern Irish, Old Irish and Irish Folklore at University College Dublin. Since moving to London in 2008 he has worked as an English and Irish teacher, teaching adults from around the world. The cultural context of the Irish language is always a key element in his classes. Niall is also a founder member and current Chair and Education Officer of Conradh na Gaeilge i Londain, the local branch of an organisation which has been at the heart of the Gaelic Revival and Irish cultural movements in general since 1893. With CnaG LDN he is involved in various projects which aim to help the Irish language community in London grow, including the Saturday school for children and parents, the Gaelic Voices Choir and regular meet-ups for all who wish to learn, practise or socialise with Irish.
