What is the course about?

This course aims to introduce you to the basic aspects of the Italian language and to enable you to communicate in simple basic conversations.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Topics: food and drink; introducing oneself, getting to know others; countries and nationalities; alphabet + spelling; numbers; time.

Grammar: gender/number of nouns; adjectives; articles; present tense (regular irregular verbs); to like; some prepositions.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

-introduce yourself and find out about other people

-ask for prices

-ask/give the time

-enquire about opening/closing times

-give and ask for directions

-buy a train ticket

-book a hotel room.

This course is for complete beginners.

Communicative/functional approach; emphasis on listening and speaking activities; pair/group work; role- plays; audio-visuals; some grammar exercises and homework will be set.
