What is the course about?

This course will give you the knowledge you need to create simple, tasty meals and snacks which will improve your cardiovascular health. Find out what foods and drinks really damage our cardiovascular systems and which will help to protect them.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

In this relaxed but very infomative three hour course you will learn the causes of heart disease and high blood pressure. Which foods and drinks will make it worse, and which will protect your heart and blood vessels. Find out whether your cholesterol levels really matter and what you can do to improve them. Discover how your diet can protect and strengthen your blood vessels.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Explain simple strategies to lower blood pressure
• Discuss what to eat and what to avoid to improve your cholesterol profile
• Describe simple, tasty meals and snacks which will improve cardiovascular health
• List the vitamins and micronutrients which can protect the heart and blood vessels.

Lecture, discussion, handouts and powerpoint.
