What is the course about?
Work on your personal projects with the knowledge you have expertise on hand with a tutor proficient in all the techniques available, Please present your proposed project to the tutor for approval and guidance, or generate and develop new projects. Use the studio to independently practice techniques and upskill your processes.
What will we cover?
Safe independent working in a print studio.
Help with basic print projects to get you started.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Gain confidence working independently and safely in the print studio with tutor support when needed.
Take personal projects further and develop your printmaking skills simultaneously.
Improve your printmaking techniques and set small projects which will inform your
future art practice.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
To work independently, we ask that you have some experience in the printmaking process you will be using.
Absolute beginners would be advised to attend one of our beginners courses first, but you are welcome if you have tried printmaking in the past and wish to refresh your experience.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Work independently in the print studio on new or existing projects whilst
1:1 support and tutor guidance is available for all.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Basic materials are all included. Specialist material for individual projects may need to be purchased by you
When I've finished, what course can I do next?
the tutors will give guidance as to suitable courses to progress on to. These are varied and will be subject to practice, techniques and level which are all areas the tutor can help you with.
Anne-Marie studied Fine Art at Epsom School of Art & Design and Advanced Printmaking at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art & Design. She has been working with printmaking, drawing, watercolour and mixed media since 1976 and has been involved in art education since 1987 at City Lit College of Adult Education, Central Saint Martin’s School of Art & Design, Bath Spa University School of Art & Design, Norwich School of Art & Design, Havering college of Further & Higher Education, V & A Museum Education department (printmaking workshops,) Morley College of Adult Education. Anne-Marie has exhibited nationally including the Hayward Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, Battersea Arts Centre and internationally at Brooklyn Art Library USA, RAMOMA (Museum of Modern Art Nairobi Kenya,). Publications: Mandy Bonnell & Stephen Mumberson ‘Printmaking on a Budget’; Jane Stobbard ‘Drawing Matters’; Jackie Newell & Dee Whittington ‘Monoprinting’ Teaching forms an integral part of Anne-Marie’s art practice with both often acting as a stimulus for the other.
