What is the course about?
This is a beginner’s course. It further builds on your previous knowledge you acquired in module 1.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.
What will we cover?
You will start learning verb agreements, adjectives, and nouns declensions. You will read stories of Krishna and build vocabulary up to some 80 new words.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
• Use more Verbs- agreements in the present tense - singular, dual & plural
• Use adjectives- masculine, Feminine & neuter
• Be familiar with noun and gender- masculine, feminine & neuter
• Be familiar with some of the noun declensions - singular endings and functions
• Tell Krishna's stories through reading comprehensions.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is level 1 module 2 so you must have completed module 1 or equivalent course. You should be able to read and write Sanskrit script. Please check course outline for module 1 on our website. Please request for an initial assessment if you are not sure. As the course is taught in English, please read the outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support with your English skills to help you take part fully in this class.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
This course is taught online, using a variety of digital resources designed to duplicate a classroom experience. You should be prepared to spend 1-2 hours for prep outside the classroom.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?
You can enrol for Sanskrit Level 1 Module 3 at CityLit. This is a continuation module starting next term. Please ask your tutor for advice.
Sabrina graduated from Aligarh Muslim University, India with a BA in Hindi & Sanskrit in 1990 and was awarded three University Gold Medals. Sabrina then went on to study Fine Art for a BFA & MFA in 1994 and 1996 respectively from Delhi University, India and an MA in Art Practice at Goldsmiths College, London University in 2007-9. Sabrina has 9 years of experience in teaching Hindi- her first language. She enjoys using audio/visual resources and activities in language teaching along with her own original teaching materials. Her in-depth knowledge of the language and teaching experience with specially designed lessons make her lessons very enjoyable. Her cultural inputs and anecdotes provide a deeper understanding of her fascinating country - India. Her research interests include contemporary Hindi in urban/rural settings and in Bollywood. She is also a proofreader for Hachette. Recently she reviewed the Hindi Grammar book for Routledge.She also teaches Sanskrit language at City Lit.
