Fernando Cabo

Fernando entered the world of shiatsu massage in the mid-90s and graduated professionally in 2001. A few years after graduating he decided to further his studies by training with Matsuko Namikoshi Sensei, making him one of the few practitioners to have trained in several shiatsu styles. After volunteering for six years in a paediatric hospital in Spain, giving shiatsu to children, he moved to London where he has been giving shiatsu to cancer patients at several hospitals since 2015. This gave him the opportunity to conduct research into the effects of shiatsu on this type of patients, both for general concerns, and a more specific study on pain reduction with shiatsu for cancer inpatients, which he used for his Master's dissertation. His teaching career started when he trained massage therapists in a thermal spa in Northern Spain. Later, in 2007, he started running professional courses, and has organised many activities for his students to practise. He and his students have volunteered for Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Care, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, the Alzheimer's Society, etc. at events such as the London Marathon.
