What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- communicate with greater confidence in Spanish
- write more accurately in Spanish
- compare/contrast aspects of contemporary Spain and Spanish speaking-countries
- demonstrate an extended knowledge of the grammatical structure of Spanish
- sit the A-level examination with confidence.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Students should have a good upper intermediate level of Spanish. They should be reasonably fluent (not rusty) and have a solid grasp of grammatical structures and vocabulary as this is a demanding course preparing you for the A level exam in one year. Please note that you will need to have studied Spanish for about four years or have an equivalent level.

Interviews start from July. Please check the website for details and book early as places are limited.

It is also essential that you have some knowledge of basic grammar terminology such as: a verb, a noun and conjugation. It would be helpful if you had knowledge of more intermediate grammar terminology such as: prepositions, direct and indirect pronouns, subjunctive, main and subordinate clause.
It is also essential that you have knowledge of more complex grammar terminology such as: conditional, indirect and direct pronouns, hypothetical sentences, subjunctive, subordinate clauses and more complex conjunctions.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
