What is the course about?

The chance to sing choral music online with a group over the summer. The choir will have something for everyone from beginners to more experienced singers. We will cover material including pop, musical theatre, jazz as well as
more traditional choral pieces. Classes will include a vocal and physical warm up and use both sheet music and
lyric sheets.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Classes will cover a thorough vocal and physical warm up as well as some basic tips for healthy singing. During
each session you will be taught new songs and their harmony parts.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Safely warm up your voice and body
- Feel confident singing in unison and in harmony.
- Have had a fun time learning songs with a group!

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is open to beginners as well as more experienced choral singers, but you do need to be able to sing in tune against other voices and piano/backing tracks/recorded choirs.
You need to be able to follow instructions in English.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

This is a highly practical class, comprising vocal and physical warm-ups, vocal exercises, and a variety of songs. You may be asked to review songs between sessions.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Music will be distributed via Google Classroom. You may want to print your music; if so please have a folder and a pencil for marking your music.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?
