What is the course about?

This course is designed to improve your postural habits and workstation set-up to make your workday more efficient and enjoyable. You will explore some easy and simple ways to reduce tension while working using some mindful movements. You will be guided in the use of different types of props to increase your comfort while working. Learn more about the benefits of taking regular breaks and exercises.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart
phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Postural habits, workstation set-up and the use of props. The effect that stress and tension have on health and work performance. The importance of taking regular breaks and using movement to improve wellbeing.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

I- dentify effective workstation set-up and using simple props to develop more comfort

· Name 1 benefit of taking regular breaks.

· Practice some mindful movements to ease tension and improve postural awareness

· Select 1 self-care practice.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is suitable for all. However, You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.

Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Short presentations, peer discussions and experiential learning through movement. Aspects of the workshop will be uploaded to Google Classroom including some verbally guided movement practices, postural check list and suggestions for workstation set-up/equipment.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No. You will need a chair, a mat/blanket a paper and pen.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Any other Feldenkrais, Pilates, Yoga or Alexander Technique course.

Charoltte is a movement and mindfulness teacher with over 12 years of experience. She says 'Over 25 years I've explored different movement disciplines and therapies. Throughout the years, one particular method stood out from all the others, the Feldenkrais Method - a way of healing and learning through movement. It resonated with my aspirations for awareness, healing, learning and resilience. The people I teach are from all walks of life. I offer a variety of classes e.g Feldenkrais, Mindful Pilates and Pilates Bones & Balance and workshops in different settings from the NHS, adult education, the local community and corporate wellness. I also offer individual movement lessons and Feldenkrais hands-on Functional Integration. To maintain my own wellbeing, on-going learning and curiosity, I have a regular movement and mindfulness practice. I also swim and walk as well as receiving mentoring in the Feldenkrais method and Mindfulness.' Qualifications: Feldenkrais Practitioner, Pilates Foundation teacher, Postural Stability Instructor and Mindfulness for Stress and Health (Breathworks). BA Social Anthropology and Economics.
