UK Massage Championship

Bringing together the UK’s top massage therapists

Join us on 24–25 May at City Lit for the third annual UK Massage Championship, organised by Bhavesh T. Joshi (London School of Massage) and Alan Billington (City Lit). Open to both national and international competitors, this event invites massage therapists to showcase their skills before a panel of expert judges, each with over 25 years of experience.

Enter the competition

To enter the competition, massage therapists can choose from five distinct categories, with the option to participate in up to four. This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your skills, gain recognition, and connect with fellow professionals. Before submitting your entry, please ensure you’ve read the Rules & Regulations and the Participant Competition Entry.

  • The event will take place on 24th & 25th May 2025.
  • Timings: 8:30am to 6:00pm.
  • Location: City Lit, 1-10 Keeley St, London WC2B 4BA.
  • The championship is open to both national and international therapists.

Judges

With diverse backgrounds in practices, each judge has more than 25 years’ experience, including clinical, training and assessment: 

Alan Billington

Head of Programme for Health and Wellbeing at City Lit

Alan Billington

Alan leads the Health and Wellbeing programme at City Lit, where he develops and oversees high-quality complementary therapy education. With over 25 years’ experience in the sector, he collaborates with awarding bodies like ITEC and ensures excellence in health-related learning.

Bhavesh T. Joshi

Bhavesh is Principal of the London School of Massage, the UK’s largest complementary therapy school, which he founded in 1994. A qualified Osteopath and Acupuncturist, he has been practising and lecturing for over 33 years. He is dedicated to advancing high standards in complementary therapy education and training.

Carole Lindsay

With extensive experience across the Beauty, Complementary Therapy, Sports and Fitness sectors, Carole supports centres as Partnership Planning Manager at VTCT. She has worked internationally as an examiner and World Skills Judge, and played a key role in developing qualifications for CIBTAC and ITEC.

Doreen Uzice

A co-founder of Quantum Metta School of Massage, Doreen has over 25 years’ experience teaching complementary therapies in the UK and abroad. A practising therapist for three decades, she has developed qualifications, examined for leading bodies, and contributed to national diploma syllabi in massage and aromatherapy.

Stephanie Youdom 

Founder of Massage Academy For All (MAFA), Stephanie is an internationally recognised trainer and therapist with over 21 years’ experience. She developed the Mitochondrial Activation Technique (MAT) and has judged global massage championships, while promoting high standards in massage education across four continents.

Kay Galbraith

Kay Galbraith began her career in reflexology in the 1980s and went on to found The School of Natural Therapies. An ITEC examiner since 2002, she continues to practise and teach a range of therapies, including kinesiology, cranio-sacral therapy, and first aid.

Yasser Hamouda 

YA physiotherapist with nearly 30 years’ experience, Yasser is the founder of the Myotool Technique and a respected international massage educator. He teaches globally, judges massage competitions, and organises the Cyprus Massage Championship, drawing on a strong background in elite sport and body therapy.

Ivan Miliotti

Ivan is co-founder of ArteCorpo Massage School and has been active in bodywork since the late 1990s. Trained in both Eastern and Western techniques, he teaches massage, Tai Chi, and meditation, and serves as an international judge at massage championships.
