Upcoming masterclasses in fiction and poetry

City Lit's range of creative writing masterclasses are now open for applications from poets and fiction writers working to an advanced level!

These intensive courses are open by selective application to a maximum of ten students. You will receive rigorous constructive feedback on your novel, short story or poem as you develop it with a view to publication, and participate in detailed tutor-led discussions on advanced elements of writerly craft.

Term-long fiction and poetry masterclasses are available from September 2019. Our new year-long fiction masterclass will also be starting this September and running until July 2020.

For experienced students looking to progress to masterclass level, our range of advanced writing workshops are also available this autumn.

Masterclass: fiction (a year-long workshop)

Course Dates: Monday 23 September 2019 - Monday 6 July 2020
Time: 19:40 - 21:40 
Location: KS - Keeley Street

This intensive three-term fiction workshop is open by selective application and interview to a maximum of ten fiction writers working at the advanced and professional levels. You will receive rigorous constructive feedback on your novel or short story as you develop it with a view to publication, and participate in detailed tutor-led discussions on advanced elements of fictional craft. Learn more and apply >

Please note: the deadline for applications is Monday 12th August. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on Sunday 8th September.

Masterclass: poetry (a one-term intensive workshop)

This intensive poetry masterclass is open by selective application to a maximum of ten students. You will receive inspiring tutor instruction and rigorous constructive feedback on your poems as you prepare them for publication and performance. Advanced fiction writing workshop

Advanced poetry workshop
