Volunteering to support people with learning difficulties or disabilities

What does volunteering at City Lit involve?

As a volunteer, you may be involved in:
• Welcoming and introducing new students to the building
• Assisting people with physical/mobility/visual difficulties to get around the building
• Attending and working alongside students who require additional support in their class
• Liaising with staff as necessary.

• A commitment to supporting people to be independent and to make their own choices and decisions

• A commitment to be a volunteer for the length of the student’s course
• A willingness to learn and attend relevant training

Once we have received your application we will contact you to arrange an interview to assess your suitability. These are held termly. Please note that all volunteers accepted on the volunteer pool will undergo a standard criminal record check.
