What is the course about?
Mae’r cwrs hwn wedi’i gynllunio ar gyfer dysgwyr sy’n dysgu Cymraeg ers rhyw 4 blynedd. Bydd yn eich helpu i atgyfnerthu eich dealltwriaeth o ramadeg a geirfa, gan feithrin hyder wrth siarad, gwrando, darllen ac ysgrifennu. Byddwch yn ymwneud ag amrywiaeth o bynciau sy’n berthnasol i fywyd bob dydd a diwylliant Cymru. Bydd pwyslais ar drafod a rhannu syniadau gyda dysgwyr eraill.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Communicate more fluently and accurately in Welsh
- Use a wider range of vocabulary and idiomatic expressions
- Understand and apply more complex grammatical structures
- Engage in discussions on familiar and cultural topics
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
- Level 3/4 (CEFR: B2 and approaching B2)
- Experience: at least 4 years of language study
Choose a Level 3/4 course if you can:
- Understand authentic spoken content of moderate to high complexity (e.g., interviews, adverts, news broadcasts).
- Grasp specific details and general meaning from routine and slightly complex telephone calls.
- Follow instructions for everyday tasks (e.g., games, recipes, using equipment or installing software).
- Read and understand authentic texts such as press articles and literary extracts, and produce clear written summaries.
- Participate in conversations with native speakers using a good range of mostly accurate language.
- Express and argue viewpoints convincingly in spoken or written form.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is based on the communicative approach:
- active students’ interaction
- emphasis on speaking and listening skills
- pair and group work
- role plays
- use of realia, pictures and authentic material
- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate
Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some homework as and when required.
