What is the course about?
the course aim is to improve fluency and obtain an introduction to the literary language. We will also discuss news items and current affairs of Welsh interest, cover grammar work and read a Welsh language novel in class. New students are welcome to join at the start of each term.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

A variety of subject agreed at the beginning of term between learners and tutor.

- describe a novel in details
- understand news items (video/radio) more precisely.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Suitable for experienced learners who want to continue to improve fluency and obtain an introduction to the literary language.

You will also need to be able to understand basic spoken and written information in English (e.g. simple instructions, course documents) and be at ease with the use of numbers for daily activities (e.g. using money, telling the time etc). It is essential that you have knowledge of more complex grammar terminology.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
. Material used in the course will be largely provided by the tutor and include grammar work from Cwrs Uwch Ceredigion as well as news items and current affairs from BBC Cymru Fyw.
