What is the course about?
This course introduces Greek myth, investigates its relevance and its perseverance. Come and discover why these tales continue to fascinate us today.
What will we cover?
We will read (in translation) certain Greek myths discussing their content, meaning, and reappearance.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- identify prominent characters and tales from a couple of Greek myths;
- discuss their continued appearances in various media.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is a course for anyone curious about the subject – no previous knowledge needed.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Tutor presentations and discussions of text and images.
