What is the course about?
Writing creatively in poetry or prose. What makes a piece of writing 'good'? Using life experience as material for your writing. Performing your completed piece to an audience of friends and others.

By the end of this course you should be able to...
Express a view on what makes writing 'good'
Look critically at your own writing and change it where appropriate to make it clearer or sound better
Listen to or read other people's work and offer constructive criticism
Read and explain your own work with confidence.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
For people fluent in English (spoken or written.) You will need to be able to listen to other people and take turns in
speaking. Students can handwrite or use screens (tablets, laptops) or other communication aids as appropriate.
There will be a lot of class discussion.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Class / whole group discussion. Some small group work. Some students may perform / recite their work to a small audience at the end of the course.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
None. Materials will be provided.
