It is inadvisable for students suffering from certain medical conditions to attend an ordinary yoga class. These conditions include hypertension (high blood pressure); conditions associated with heart disease, cancer or benign tumours; epilepsy including petit mal; diabetes; Menieres disease; detached retina; MS (Multiple Sclerosis); ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis); recent post-operative conditions; new students who are pregnant. Advice can be sought from the Department Office for those who have concerns about the suitability of the class for them.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and have something to keep you warm during relaxation. Postures are performed barefoot but you may wear non-slip socks if you prefer. You may want to bring a little pillow to support your head (when lying down) or back (when sitting). It would be useful to have a yoga (non-slippery) mat to practice on and enough floor space. There are no other costs.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Any other German and/ or health and fitness courses. Please ask the tutors.

Francine van den Berg

Having finished my MA in Communication Sciences paired with foreign languages, I went straight into tourism, working for airlines, tourism operators and cruise ships. As a tour guide working within Europe, I have had the pleasure to meet and greet wonderful people from all over the world. Ditto when working as a Dutch, Italian and German interpreter/translator on board cruise ships. Languages are the keys to new cultures, and I love helping people to open new doors. I am currently doing an MA in Creative Writing next to my tutoring assignments, so who knows? I might also be teaching creative writing at some stage. I look forward to many hours of fun language lessons with Citylit students!

Please note: We reserve the right to change our tutors from those advertised. This happens rarely, but if it does, we are unable to refund fees due to this. Our tutors may have different teaching styles; however we guarantee a consistent quality of teaching in all our courses.
