What is the course about?

Prince2 is a project management methodology that is used by organisations, businesses and individuals to ensure that a controlled management of projects is obtained from start to finish. This course will provide you with a basic understanding of the Prince2 themes, principles, processes and tailoring.

Participants who will attend the full course will receive a City Lit certificate of attendance electronically for their CV or CPD records. The certificate will show your name, course title and dates of the course you have attended.

What will we cover?

• Principles (Foundations for Prince2)
• Themes (Business Case to Risk Management)
• Processes (Start up to closure)
• Tailoring.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Learn how the themes, principles, processes and tailoring of Prince2 work together to enable you to effectively manage a project.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Good level of English to be able to follow instructions and have class discussions with the tutor and other learners.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The course is a mixture of practical and theoretical. Learners will be working on a case study or working on their own projects. Work will be checked to ensure understanding is gained by the learner.

Ayo Alegbeleye

Ayo has over 30 years in Managing projects and operations in various private and public organisations. He has utilised this experience to run Project Management courses for over 15 years in private and public sector organisations. He is currently part of a Project Management team on a project to relocate staff and services from its current location to a new Town Hall on the site of the old Royal London Hospital. He holds various project management qualifications including Prince 2, AMP and an MBA, and teaches APM project management fundamentals to exam level. He loves the vibrancy of teaching at City Lit, where the non accredited courses he teaches provide a unique practical overview of Prince 2. He finds Project Management really comes alive for students through the use of case studies and sharing real-life experiences.
