Voice Training for Actors and Professionals at City Lit is offered by some of the highest qualified voice specialists in the industry today. Voice skills are not just for actors, they are for anyone who wishes to unlock the full expressive potential of their voice.
Expert tutors
The majority of our tutors have an MA in Voice Studies from Royal Central School of speech and Drama, the highest international qualification. Our classes are taught by professional performers and practitioners, many of whom also teach at leading London drama schools. We also offer advanced masterclasses focusing on different voice practitioners. Please refer to individual course outlines for individual staff biographies.
Studying at City Lit
Our media studio in the heart of Covent Garden is fully equipped for study of voice in media, including Acting for Radio; Radio Presenting, Voiceovers and how to approach Character Voice for Animation. Our performance studios at City Lit’s Covent Garden headquarters are ideal spaces for working on the technical aspects of voice such as breath and articulation, crucial for any type of public speaking.

- Combining voice and PilatesThis innovative and one-off workshop shows you how to integrate modified Pilates movements with voice training as a holistic approach to voice, starting at breath release and progressing into phonation and resonance. Through this combination you may begin to find a link between body and voice through the core muscles of support. A fun but intensive Saturday workshop in the college.
